on-line solution to NVQ4 in Occupational
Health and Safety Practice...

Announcing the new practical on-line route to chartered membership of IOSH!

Enroll now to the NVQ Level 4 in Occupational Safety and Health, and book your passport to the non-academic route to full IOSH Membership.

The Initial Professional Development Scheme (IPD) is a new approved practical route to becoming a Chartered Member of IOSH. You can now achieve CMIOSH by demonstrating your skills and knowledge that you have gained through experience rather than through academic study and examination.

 

Traditionally membership required you to be a graduate with an accredited and taught academic qualification. Now membership can be achieved through gaining a National Vocational Qualification or Scottish Vocational Qualification (NVQ/SVQ) in Occupational Health and Safety Practice at level 4 (NVQ Level 4)

 

SETA has been accredited by City and Guilds (CGLI) to support and mentor you across a broad range of accreditation requirements, so that you can achieve the necessary Level 4 NVQ.  

 

To achieve the NVQ Level 4 you will be assessed to ensure you meet all relevant performance criteria laid down in the NVQ. You will also be required to demonstrate the skills that you have developed are transferable to situations within your normal workplace activities.

 

Then, once you have successfully completed your professional peer review interview, which is conducted by IOSH an online examination and you will be entitled to apply for Chartered Membership of IOSH and to use the CMIOSH designation.

 

SETA will mentor and support you all the way!

 

SETA will work with you to create a personal assessment
and action plan which will include:-

     -  The setting of objectives & targets including assessment and  

         verification visits by SETA

     -  Specific mentor training sessions will be provided to fill any   

         gaps in your experience knowledge and qualifications

    -  You will use the e-portfolios web portal to record on line, all    

         your evidence of experience. This means you will not have to 

         carry around huge files, all prone to be lost. A ll your evidence

          is recorded and reviewed by SETA on-line. E-portfolios can be  

          used to gather the following types of evidence including :   

                    * Witness statements

                    * Element and unit summary records

                    * Reflective accounts

                    * Assessment & progress records

                    * Oral evidence records-voice recordings          

                    * Video recordings

 

You will receive all this professional guidance and mentorship from SETA plus secure access to the SETA e-portfolio

for an incredible

£1,999 plus VAT.

NVQ Level 4 in Occupational

Safety & Health Practice

The qualification involves decision making on a very broad range of risks, calling for a high level of technical and managerial competence.
Candidates must obtain all thirteen units to gain the full NVQ4
qualification.

The NVQ units are as follows:

    - Evaluate and develop own practice.
   - Promote a positive health and safety culture.
   - Develop and implement the health and safety policy.
   - Develop and implement effective communication 

     systems for health and safety information.
   - Develop and maintain individual and organisational

     competence in health and safety matters.
   - Identify and evaluate health and safety hazards.
   - Assess health and safety risks.
   - Determine and implement health and safety risk control   

     measures.
   - Develop and implement active monitoring systems for    

     health and safety.
   - Develop and implement reactive monitoring systems for 

     health and safety.
   - Develop and implement health and safety emergency

     response systems and procedures.
   - Develop and implement health and safety review systems.

    - Develop and implement health and safety audit systems.

   - Contribute to health and safety legal actions
