Hosted at Houldsworth Golf Club, Stockport, Business Development Executive, Dean Shannon, organised the event with the aim of getting existing clients and local employers together. The Golf Day was a great opportunity to thank current clients and network with companies we do not yet work with. SETA is one of the leading training providers for engineering apprenticeships and adult technical skills training in the Greater Manchester and Cheshire areas.
Dean Shannon, SETA Business Development Executive, comments:
“It was a very successful day out at Houldsworth Golf Club. 19 golfers from various companies attended and I thoroughly enjoyed the company of clients and local companies. It was a good opportunity to give something back and say thank you to clients and meet some new local employers. We look forward to hosting the event the same time next year and hope to see even more local employers attend.”
Phil Wilcoxon, Sodexo, states:
“Thank you to SETA for the invite. I thoroughly enjoyed the day and it was a good chance to meet some new local employers. Thanks to Houldsworth Golf Club for their hospitality. I look forward to attending again next year!”
SETA is currently in peak recruitment time for engineering apprentices for the 2013/14 year and is seeking employers in the North West who would be interesting in taking on an apprentice in any of the following areas of engineering: electrical and mechanical maintenance, precision manufacturing, welding and fabrication or design and draft engineering. The apprenticeship application numbers this year have been very good having has seen uplift on previous year. Apprenticeships are a fantastic way for local employers attract new talent, re-skill existing staff and tackle skill shortages. SETA is very keen for local employers to visit the Training Centre to find out more about how apprenticeships could help their business.
