Yes it is indeed the most wonderfuL time of year!  On Friday 17th December, our annual Santa Dash in aid of the very deserving ‘When You Wish Upon A Star’ (dream making for sick and terminally ill children) North West division, went ahead. Our apprentices donned their Santa suits and ran 1.8km around Reddish Playing fields to win the race and of course to raise much needed funds for the charity.

Last year was a terrible year with all events cancelled due to the COVID epidemic so we were really happy that this year it could go ahead, The charity have taken a real hit with sponsored events not being held so we really needed this to help get them back on track, even though we had to run it nearby in the muddy field instead of at Woodbank Park the home of Stockport Harriers running track due to not being able to encourage apprentices to car share due to covid restrictions.

Luckily the rain went away for the day and our apprentices had a bright crisp morning even if it was a little muddy. Third place went to Josh Kirk of Jacobs Engineering, Second place went to James Cowen of Swizzels Matlow, pipped to the post by the fantastic Sam Gagen-Hill who works for Nexperia who completed the race in a speedy 3.50 minutes!

Thank you to all the apprentices who have taken part and gained sponsors for our chosen charity and to all of the SETA staff who helped to host the race, it is greatly appreciated. A big thank you to all the companies who continuously support our sponsored events.

Merry Christmas!
