NEBOSH HSE Award in Managing Risks and Risk Assessment at Work (RAW)
Objective:
The NEBOSH HSE Award in Managing Risks & Risk Assessment at Work Course is a qualification aimed at anyone who wants to carry out a risk assessment effectively.
The course covers the following topics:
- Important reasons to manage Health and Safety risks in the workplace
- Identifying and understanding the risks
- Controlling the risks
- Sources of information and the application of HSE Risk Assessment tool

Employees at all levels, supervisors, managers, HSE specialists and non-HSE specialists, such as your HR staff, can benefit from this course.
Attending the course will enable you to:
- carry out Risk Assessments in the right way and to the appropriate standard,
- build confidence in your Risk Assessment capabilities, and
- be risk aware at all times to facilitate a safe and healthy work environment for everyone by applying the learning in practice
Pre-course requirements:
There are no entry requirements for this qualification, but’ it is recommended that students should already have an underpinning knowledge of health and safety issues in any workplace.
Programme: This is a standalone qualification (No other unit qualification required)
The qualification is a single unit qualification:
Duration: 1 day (includes assessment)
Assessment
A practical assessment is completed at the end of the course for approximately one hour duration. You will be asked to watch a video of a real workplace and complete a four part risk assessment to identify how you would manage and prioritise the risks present.
Certification
NEBOSH will issue the certification for successfully completing the course and assessment.
