The official presentation took place at SETA where Chris Rowe, (MD from LJ Create), Paul Fox (Contracts Manager from Novus Property Solutions) and Duncan Turner (Estates and Facilities Maintenance Manager at the University of Manchester) met with Bob Howarth (SETA Chairman), Geoff Radivan, Mark Field and Mark Neild from SETA.

Last year SETA introduced a new BTEC Electrical/Electronic pathway to run alongside our current operations and maintenance program.
Electronics/BTEC Instructor Geoff Radivan, put in place the simulation packages for the course but wanted actual PLC and associated equipment which would be a great benefit to the students.

Geoff had spoken to various companies in his quest for electronic test equipment which can be quite expensive to purchase but to little or no avail. Not to be disheartened, Geoff continued to try to find a way of attaining the hardware, the LJ PLC training kit can be around £3500 with the associated software.

Geoff decided to see if the University and other partners would sponsor the kit. To Geoff’s surprise and an absolute delight it finally materialised, and SETA took delivery from LJ Create a couple of months ago. Thanks to the kindness and generosity of all involved, next academic year will be demonstrating and apprentices will have the opportunity to program the unit.
