We’ve all heard the phrase ‘ A dog is for LIFE not just for christmas’, but sadly for some dogs, their forever home doesn’t work out as expected.
One of SETA’s students, Charlie-Ann Crawford, came to us to ask if we could help her to fund raise for Manchester Dogs Home. Charlie-Ann who is an engineering apprentice for Williams Fairy, first got involved with Manchester Dogs home 4 years ago when she adopted her beloved Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross ‘Coco’. She has been involved with donations on a personal basis but wanted to give something extra this year, She wanted to raise £100! Obviously, we jumped at the chance to help Charlie-Ann to help this fantastic charity! SETA have had boxes throughout the centre, a dog food donation centre, along with a raffle…together we helped Charlie-Anne to raise over £170 with which she bought toys galore and food and tasty treats for the dogs.
We visited Manchester Dogs Home on Thursday 19th December with the donations and met with the staff and resident dogs. To top off the day, Charlie-Ann even got to meet her next potential canine buddy!
Thank you to everyone who donated to this cause and thank you to the staff (and resident dogs!) at Manchester Dogs Home. It was wonderful to get the chance to cuddle ‘Hooch’ a beautiful Dogue De Bordeaux who is currently up for adoption at the rescue centre.
