Introduction to Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations 2015
A one day course designed to introduce the requirements of the CDM Regulations 2015 and explain the roles and duties of;
- The Client
- The Principle Designer (PD)
- The Principle Contractor (PC)
- Designers
- Contractors (and Sub Contractors)
- Employees
The course will examine and explain the difference between the role and duties of a (commercial) Client and a Domestic Client, and how these differences affects the role of the PD and the PC.
It will explain the role of the PD in the management of the ‘Pre-Construction Phase’ including the provision of ‘Pre-Construction Information’ and the drafting, construction and management of the ‘Health and Safety File’
The course will explain the role of the PC in the ‘Pre-Construction Phase’ and more specifically their duty to plan and manage the ‘Construction Phase’ including their duty to manage all Contractors and Sub-Contractors, and how this may be done.
The course will also explain and discuss the importance of ‘Pre-Construction Information’ in the drafting the ‘Construction Phase Plan and in the Management of the Construction Phase’.
