- To ensure those responsible of their legal duties under the Manual Handling
Regulations - Be able to recognise harmful Manual Handling
- Have knowledge of the different types of Manual Handling injuries
- Understand the Risk Assessment process
- Be able to work to the safe systems of work provided
- Understand the need for using mechanical aids
- Be able to carry out good handling techniques using the Kinetic Lifting
- Method relative to the job/task that must be carried out
Who will benefit from this course?
Personnel responsible for Manual Handling operations and who in the course
of their employment will carry out duties to which the regulations refer
Pre-course requirements:
There are no entry requirements for this qualification.
Duration & Assessment:
This is a one-day study course including test & assessment.
Certification:
Successful completion of the course test and assessment will result in the issue of a SETA certificate to completion.

- The Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998
- Truing, Dressing and Balancing of Abrasive Wheels
- Practical Session
- Wheel Handling and Storage
- Hazards Associated with Abrasive Wheels Usage
- Classification of Wheels
- Personal Protective Equipment Regulations 1992
- Other Relevant Legislation (i.e. Noise Manual Handling, etc)
