Objective:
The topics of the EMC have been specifically designed to help line managers, HSE managers, supervisors and HR practitioners to strengthen their understanding in the areas of Environmental Management Systems (ISO14001) and Impact Assessments, energy
efficiency, control of pollution, planning for and dealing with environmental emergencies.

People who understand the growing importance of holding a recognised and respected environmental management qualification.
This course is suitable for those who want to build their career in Environmental Management.
Pre-course requirements:
No formal previous health and safety knowledge is required.
Anybody who needs a basic understanding of environmental issues in
the workplace.
Course Content
The course covers the following topics:
- Foundations in environmental management
- Environmental management systems
- Assessing Environmental aspects and impacts
- Planning for and dealing with environmental emergencies
- Controls of emissions to air
- Control of environmental noise
- Control of contamination of water resources
- Control of waste and land use
- Sources and use of energy and energy efficiency
Duration & Assessment
This is a 5 day study course with 1 examination day, this is combined with the suggested 25 hours of self-study and suggested 8 hours on assessment.
The qualification is divided into two units, each of which is assessed separately:
• Unit EMC1 – Open Book Examination (24 hours)
• Unit EMC2 – A practical assessment to be carried out in your workplace (or another workplace)
Certification
NEBOSH will issue a certificate to those who successfully complete the course and assessment.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- NEBOSH suggests that those taking these qualifications should have a minimum English proficiency level equivalent to an IELTS score of 6.0 or higher.
- If you choose to undertake a classroom-based plan of study, you will need to attend classes and exams with other delegates on specific dates and at certain times, as outlined on your course timetable.
