This course is aimed at all employees in the construction sector and will enable them to manage health & safety construction risks through a broad understanding of construction health & safety issues.

Both individuals and the construction industry will benefit. It will enable considered advice to be given, legal requirements are met, enable risk assessments to be conducted and risks properly managed across a range of construction activities. Successful candidates will be eligible for associate membership of the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) and can apply for a construction skills certification scheme (CSCS) black card.

 

Pre Course Requirements:
No previous health & Safety knowledge is required although it is advisable that candidates do have an  understanding of the basic practical aspects of the construction industry. It should also be noted that the examination includes an open book assessment that requires a good standard of written English.

 

Programme: This is a standalone qualification (No other unit qualification required)
The qualification is a single unit qualification. Management of Health & Safety (NC1) and is divided into the following modules:
• The foundations of construction health and safety management
• Improving health and safety culture and assessing risk
• Managing change and procedures
• Excavation
• Demolition
• Mobile plant and vehicles
• Working at height
• Musculoskeletal health and load handling
• Work equipment
• Electricity
• Fire
• Chemical and biological agents
• Physical and psychological health

 

Duration: 10 days plus 2 days for open book examination (48 hours) Also 40 suggested hours of self study time.

This is offered as an open course at our Conference Centre, or it can be run in-company.

 

Cost: £1,245 + VAT per person
This includes all refreshments, lunch, course notes/handouts, textbooks and registration and examination fees.

 

Please note: As of 17th January 2023 SETA will be delivering the new Level 7 qualification version of the course due to updates in the CSCS Academically Qualified Person (AQP) card scheme criteria. This addition is to ensure future learners gain a qualification that gives them recognition from CSCS. CSCS will continue to recognise people who have already achieved any Level 6 NEBOSH UK construction qualification until December 2024.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
  • NEBOSH suggests that those taking these qualifications should have a minimum English proficiency level equivalent to an IELTS score of 6.0 or higher.
  • If you choose to undertake a classroom-based plan of study, you will need to attend classes and exams with other delegates on specific dates and at certain times, as outlined on your course timetable.
  • Your learning will be guided and supported by a class tutor.
