Danny Wassall, Engineering Apprentice training with SETA, Employed by Nestle Waters

Danny Wassall took part of annual SETA Charity Walk in Lyme Park, here is what he thought of the experience:

“Lyme Park itself was brilliant, I had never been there before but would definitely go back there. I thought it was a great location for the charity walk and it turned out to be a very good day out. We all had a good laugh and everyone made it very enjoyable for all of the people involved, it was quite clear that we were all doing it for a very good cause. The weather on the day was great, dry and quite warm which made the walk so much more enjoyable, this and the location scenery all made it a very good day out.

I think the charity events are great. They are a good way to get everyone together for a good cause and to show people in the community that we want to make a difference for other people. SETA have done this walk a few times now and it is great that we are continuing to do so and continuing our support for the ‘When You Wish Upon A Star’ charity.

I think these events are extremely important as it gives a good chance for all the apprentices and have a good time without focussing on work, it was a good chance for the group to get to know each other better. We also get to help ‘When You Wish Upon A Star’, from what we have been told the charity do some amazing things. They assist terminally ill children to achieve their dream and personally I couldn’t think of a better way to help these children and families through such hard times than to give them what they would do anything for. Just to make them realise that people care for them is a great thing to do and SETA supporting this charity gives us the chance to show them many people care about them.
At SETA so far I have learned so many skills. I am rapidly progressing and engineering is emerging strongly as something I will not regret doing. I love how every day is different and getting the satisfaction of doing a job well, even though things may go wrong along the way. The best bits are making new friends and mixing with new people, it has made it much more enjoyable.”
