SETA Engineering Recruitment Open Day 2022

The 2022 SETA Engineering Apprenticeship Open day went far better than was anticipated on Wednesday 9th February.

Our Staff, Apprentices and Exhibiting Employers were kept exceptionally busy throughout the day into evening with over 90 potential apprentices through the doors!

A fabulous display of engines through the ages was given by The Stockport & District Society of Model Engineers who run the South Park Miniature Railway in Cheadle Hulme. One of the members remembered his son being apprentice of the year here from 1979-80, so obviously we needed to reunite him with the trophy!

The electrical & electronics department put on their usual fascinating tricks & displays, this year with a sound activated light show! We had some great feedback from visitors as they took a tour around the centre.

Don’t worry if you missed the open day, we are planning on further ‘drop in’ sessions throughout the spring/summer where you will be able to get advice such as hints on interview techniques and combatting nerves in interview situations amongst other things.

Remember, we now have vacancies available ALL YEAR ROUND so keep an eye on our vacancies page. Link: Vacancies Available

A big thank you to all the Employers who gave their time to exhibit at our open day, we thoroughly enjoyed meeting with you all.

Thanks also to all SETA Staff and Ian, Ken and the gang from the Stockport & District Society of Model Engineers. If you wish to find out more about this open group for Engineers and enthusiasts visit: S.E.T.A. – www.stockportsme.com

I had some excellent feedback from our exhibitors Johnny & Tom about this event, all I can say is ISS were delighted to be part of it and I do hope we can do this again  next year.

I am thrilled there was so much interest in our business – we are growing & we want to excel, certainly we see young engineers strategic to our success – thank you for allowing us to participate.
