To start this week we have had a visit from a group of year 9 pupils from St Annes RC High School who were shown the centre with it’s the varied areas of engineering skills training here including fitting, machining, welding, and electrical wiring and maintenance and electronics.
It was an opportunity for them to experience and see how we train young people after year 11 as Engineering Apprentices and for them
gain an insight into our sector.

This was followed up by a visit and presentation to year 11 pupils at Newall Green High School who were also invited to our Open Evening in March 2020.

SETA Open Evening is held during National Apprenticeship week, which takes place 3 to 9 February 2020.

We will be doing talks and meeting pupils from Hazel Grove High, Loretto Sixth form Manchester, Salford City Academy and Chapel en le Frith High School to give them a clearer understanding of Apprenticeships and Engineering.
