Battle of the Somme Centenary is celebrated by SETA’s Engineering Apprentices
Huge thank you to everyone who attended last Friday to take part in the official presentation of the tank replica build by SETA Apprentices!
During 2014-16 SETA Apprentices and Staff have designed and fabricated a 1:3 scaled model of a 1916 Mark1 Tank to be displayed during Remembrance Weekend by the Friends of Stockport Cemeteries.
The Lord Mayor of Stockport handed over the tank to Friends of Stockport Cemeteries. Other special guests included representatives from the Army Cadets and The Royal British Legion.
The Battle of the Somme Tank model was built by SETA’s Engineering Apprentices to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme and will be used by the Friends of Stockport Cemeteries during their Remembrance Weekend starting on Saturday 12th November 2016 through to the Remembrance Memorial Ceremony on Sunday, 13th November 2016 after which it will take its final resting place with Reddish Army Cadets.
