Practical risk assessment skills for the workplace
This standalone NEBOSH HSE Award is aimed at anyone who wants to carry out a risk assessment effectively. The one-day classroom course covers why health and safety risks should be managed, how to identify and understand risks, how to control them, and how to use sources of information and the HSE risk assessment tool.
Attending the course is intended to help learners carry out risk assessments to the appropriate standard, build confidence in their risk assessment capabilities and apply the learning in practice to support a safe and healthy work environment.

Course information
Requirements, assessment and certification
Pre-course requirements
There are no entry requirements for this qualification, but it is recommended that students should already have an underpinning knowledge of health and safety issues in any workplace. NEBOSH suggests that those taking these qualifications should have a minimum English proficiency level equivalent to an IELTS score of 6.0 or higher. Learning is guided and supported by a class tutor.
Assessment
A practical assessment is completed at the end of the course. Learners are asked to watch a video of a real workplace and complete a four-part risk assessment to identify how they would manage and prioritise the risks present.
Certification
Successful completion will result in the issue of a NEBOSH HSE Award in Managing Risks and Risk Assessment at Work certificate.

Payment and resits
Payment is taken when the course booking is confirmed. Invoice payments must be made within 30 days or before the course starts, whichever is sooner. Examination resits incur an additional fee. All course fees are subject to VAT.
