Manage process safety risks effectively
The NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Process Safety Management is designed to provide a sound breadth of knowledge that will allow learners to contribute to the effective management of process safety risks and help prevent catastrophic accidents and near misses associated with the loss of containment of energy or dangerous substances such as chemicals and hydrocarbons.
The qualification covers issues affecting process industries such as oil and gas, chemicals, plastics and pharmaceuticals through four elements: Process Safety Leadership, Management of Process Risk, Process Safety Hazard Control, and Fire Protection and Emergency Response.

Course information
Requirements, assessment and certification
Pre-course requirements
No formal previous health and safety knowledge is required. However, NEBOSH recommends that students have an underpinning knowledge of health and safety issues and may already have studied one of NEBOSH’s qualifications. For learners whose first language is not English, an English language level equivalent to IELTS 6.0 or higher is recommended, but not mandatory. Learning guided and supported by a class tutor.
Assessment
A computer-based examination is conducted by NEBOSH. Learners have a 24-hour window in which to complete a 90-minute examination consisting of 40 multiple-choice questions. A minimum score of 60% is required to pass (24 correct answers out of 40).
Certification
Learners who complete the course and achieve the minimum pass mark in the examination will receive a certificate from NEBOSH.

Payment and resits
Payment is taken when the course booking is confirmed. Invoice payments must be made within 30 days or before the course starts, whichever is sooner. Examination resits incur an additional fee. All course fees are subject to VAT.
